About 4 years ago my dog Louie mysteriously passed in the middle of the night. Loss like this is so heartbreaking and difficult to process.

I remember also, my mother had to be rushed to the ER a couple years back due to internal bleeding.

I call the ambulance and then follow it to the hospital with the new dog, Chewy, in my lap.

After arriving at the hospital, I drive over to my brother’s place and wait for two hours to stay with Chewy and my nieces before a friend comes to take my place so I can return to the hospital.

Back at the hospital there are no updates. My whole family is in the waiting room counting every minute. The walls are sanitary white and the fluorescent lights are insulting in the early morning hours.

After hours in the hospital waiting room with no updates from the doctor, finding out your loved one will be okay is the single greatest relief in the universe.

I’m so grateful to hear your Charlie is safe and sound. 🙏🏻
