Why PPE Degrees Help Students Think Clearer, Make More Money and Live Better Lives
Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) balances headier and more practical disciplines in the social sciences.
I had spent years struggling to settle on a degree program for my Bachelor’s. I’d switched majors from Physics to Creative Writing to Philosophy to Business to General Studies to Computer Science. I’d also flunked out of Florida State University.
When I started at Palm Beach Atlantic University, I knew the stakes were high for choosing the right degree program. I needed to settle on a degree program once and for all and commit to it.
I’m up late one night making a Google Sheet with all the degree programs I might be interested in and then listing out the pros and cons.
Every line on the spreadsheet represents something I would love to study. But, as I look down the list, I can’t make peace with the idea of being boxed into any one category.
After hours of poring over the Palm Beach Atlantic course catalog, the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics program begins to stick out as a program that would encourage my diverse interests.
Choosing to study PPE ended up being one of the best choices I ever made…
